Council Tax Bands is an independent reference to the homes on the Council Tax valuation lists of England and Wales.

It is run by Allison Fisher. It takes the Valuation Office's published counts of homes by band, property type and build period and turns them into one page per council, a page per region, a comparison tool and a set of guides. All figures come from official statistics; the drawings, rankings and comparisons are computed for this site.

The site is not connected with the Valuation Office, HM Revenue & Customs, any council or any government body. It does not hold records for individual homes, cannot say which band a particular home is in and does not give advice about Council Tax. To look up the band of a particular home, use the official GOV.UK band checker.
